I am going to start with the following disclaimer. Do not attempt to do what you are about to read; underage drinking is prohibited. It is also dangerous do not do it as a dare.
This is another true story we can laugh about it.
I was speaking with the Little One regarding publishing the story about the ice-cream, if you have not read the blog it was published January 17. I mentioned to her I will published the following story. We started to laugh about it.
We lived in an old farm, today that farm would be 300 years old. We did not have a living room, so my parents had in their bedroom a library with nice glass doors. Inside of that library sitting on one shelf were all the syrups, like grenadines, mint, raspberry etc. On the shelf below were all the alcohol bottles, which we call aperitif. The doors could lock but my mother never did lock them.
My sisters and I were off school, we were all under the age of 10. If I recall correctly it was a Saturday, again we had nothing much to do. We were alone at home. My mother was working that morning, and we were supposed to meet her after she was done, which was less than a mile from where we lived.
During the morning my older sister had another bright idea. She went in the kitchen picked up two glasses, gathered us in our parents’ bedroom and told us we should pour each syrup in one glass and do the same with the spirits. We were not inclined to do it at first, but my sister persuaded us.
We picked up 6 bottles of syrup, pouring one by one into the first glass, we also splashed some on the floor. we repeated the same with the 10 bottles of spirits. Sitting on the floor we proceeded to drink sips of the glass filled with syrup than we did the same with the glass filled with spirits. The taste was not the best in either of them.
After our testing we moved the glasses by the window. Cleaned up the mess on the floor, we put back all the bottles in their respective places. We forgot to clean up by the window the spills we did, but we washed the glasses.
Everything looked normal. It was now 11:30AM, we had to walk to meet our mother. By the time we left the house the three of us were drunk. We were laughing and talking loudly, when we arrived at her place of work. We were laughing so hard you could hear us from a distance. My mother couldn’t understand why we were so loud.
We walk back home; my mother still couldn’t figure out what was wrong with us. My uncles happened to arrive a few minutes after us. At that point we were still laughing uncontrollably, my mother went to her bedroom. She found, by the window, a colony of ants which had invaded the area where we had spilled. Tracing back her steps she looked on the floor where we sat and had our drinking party. She found some of the ants had made it there. She proceeded to open the cabinet and with her eagle eyes she figured out what mischief we had done.
She bolted back into our bedroom and confronted us. My uncles happened to hear my mother screaming at us, at this point, they came to the bedroom laughing. While my mother was out of control my uncles thought it was funny we got drunk. We got severely punished but this time we were so drunk that the punishment didn’t hurt at all. We had to go to bed even though we were not tired.
Moving forward my parents locked and hide the keys to the cabinet. We were not sick the next day but what save us was the fact my uncles were at our home. Otherwise it would have been even worst for us.
