Let your pride aside before wishing them well

I am going to start with a story today. When someone leaves your company for one reason or another, that person is now on his/her journey to create something they always wanted to do. Be happy for them, resentments and jealousy shouldn’t be part of the feelings you have towards that individual. Especially if you feel like you wished you could have been the one to think about that idea. You dreamed to create your own company but never did it. Pride is something that is part of your ego, it should be tamed to the point to be nonexistent. I have …

How to keep healthy eating habits

It is difficult to have healthy habits when you see all the temptations around you. If you have a sweet tooth you can easily be swayed by the candy dish of your co-workers or Monday’s Donuts in the conference room. Going to the grocery store on an empty stomach is not such a great idea either. The smell of fresh cookies at the bakery could be even more tempting. If you are a salty person, passing into the snack aisle could be even more dangerous. Looking at the latest chips with the delicious salsa from the deli could be a deal …

How to stay in a state of gratitude

One of the most challenging tasks in today’s society, it’s to stay in a state of gratitude. While living our lives at 200 miles per hour, it is unlikely most of us spend the time to reflect every day on what we are grateful for. We are forgetting to go back to the basics. Every day we should be able to take 5 minutes, when the house is finally quiet, everyone is a sleep, turn off the TV or any distraction, take the time to look around and think what we are grateful for. It could be as simple as …

Why should we trade exotics animals?

I am going to write about a controversial subject……exotic animals. I just read about a two-month-old Bengal tiger that was found by a post office worker after a scan was completed on a box. He was sedated, without any room to move, no food or anything. He was in good condition, only dehydrated, wisely they transferred him to an animal sanctuary not the owner’s destination. An investigation has been initiated. Millions of exotics animals, including endangered species, are being illegally taken away from their habitats or even breeds for the purpose of selling them to make money. Anyone with the money and right …

Animals are not paper towels Part 2!

My Beautiful Wailua: She was the most beautiful gentle little sweet soul I have ever meet. Couple of years after I adopted Max, I went back to Pet Finder to see if I could find a mate for Malou. I searched for a few weeks, I saw the post about Wailua.  I contacted the shelter, we meet at a pet store near my home. When I saw her the first time she looked like a rat. She just got shaved but she was so petite. She did the same test, she got into my arms and didn’t move at all. I …

Animals are not paper towels Part 1!

I love animals. I have adopted animals from shelters, making a point to always adopt senior animals. Everyone wants that cute little kitten or puppy, but most of the time when the animal has grown, some people would discard them like paper towels. When adopting an animal, you, as the owner, have the responsibility to take care of them. It is a lifetime commitment.  If you are not ready to take care of them, PLEASE DO NOT GET ONE.  It also includes financial commitment. A lot of people do not realize that animals can get sick including cancer. The cost to help …

We all have gifts. What do I mean by that? Take an inventory of what you are capable of doing with ease. You could be a great artist, a chef, an entrepreneur or a speaker. Opening a bakery, a restaurant or becoming an advisor. Possibilities are endless if you dream big, if you push the boundaries and listen to your inner voice. Not everyone will step up and move …

Who would you like to have dinner with?

Today I am asking, if you had the opportunity to have dinner with anyone, alive or deceased, who would you choose and why? I have a few people I would like to have around my table for dinner. I would like to have Lord Ganesha and beautiful Lakshmi both are dear to my heart. Sitting next to them, Leonardo Da Vinci, having a conversation with him would be amazing, showing what he draws centuries ago actually has materialized. I would be humbled to have Padre Pio at my table, I would share with him how he helped me in the past. …

Standing still in the storm Part 2

It is still dark outside, the river is still active, I am not ready to go back yet on my journey. I need to stand still in this storm by staying and resting in the cabin. The old man is sitting with a smile on his face, so much wisdom coming from is aura. His smile is calming, I can sense he has some advice to share with me. I am not ready to hear it yet. As I am resting in the living room by the fire place, I have a feeling of peace coming upon me. I have more …

Standing still in the storm Part 1

As my journey is unfolding, I am finding myself in the middle of a storm. Navigating around the obstacles that present to me. I am asking the Universe to guide me along the way. Braving this storm has proven to be challenging. The darkness I am traveling under has been treacherous, the water has been unforgiving. As I am paddling through these troubled waters, I can feel the help of the Universe guiding me. Also, I can sense I am not alone, I still have this lingering feeling I am alone. Facing the decision to continue my journey. I do not …
