When I was a young girl I had a tutor, she was an old retired school teacher. I believed she was in her mid-60’s, when I started to go to her house after school. One day she looked at me with a solemn look on her face and told me “I can’t help you anymore, there is nothing I can do for you!”
My mother was so upset about it. I was a lost cause, someone whom at a very young age refused to read and write. What kind of future could I have?
Well if I had to believe everyone along my path that told me I wasn’t good enough, not worthy or anything else along those lines, I would not have accomplished anything in my life, but instead I would have become “a victim” or a “martyr”. I would be looking at my life passing by me, waiting for my time to die full of anger and resentment towards the world.
Instead, I decided to do whatever my instinct was inspiring me to become. Pushing my own limits, going beyond what I thought for me was impossible. Dreaming big, making things unfold for me. I believed in myself regardless of what people ever thought about me. I never looked at people for validation or approval. I never depended on anyone to give me their “two cents worth”, especially when it was unwanted.
Words are powerful, if you are consciously or unconsciously telling a child or anyone as a matter of fact they are not worthy. You are robbing them of their true potential. Not everyone can learn at the same speed, some people are more inclined to learn faster than others. Some are more artistic than others. Whatever people can do, no one should set a limitation on them.
If I had listened to that teacher and my mother, I would not have traveled, lived in different countries. Neither would I have started to write a blog, or created two websites on my own. I let my imagination inspiring me. I have done everything I set my mind to do. I would like to emphasize, that I have listen to my instincts, that little voice inside of me who has been guiding me my entire life. My soul, my compass, my light, the one that I can always count on.
Along my life I surrounded myself with a few people that I could trust, that would give me honest feedback. There is an old saying, if you have at least 3 people you can count on in your life, you are the luckiest person on Earth. You do not need to be surrounded by a court of people that do not have your best interests at heart.
If you listen closely when people speak you can figure out quickly if this comes from a place of good intention or not. Also, it is not the words it is the intent. But when your soul is speaking to you, you know deep inside if this is right for you or not.
If someone is telling you ‘You are not worthy’ smile and let them be. Because everyone is worthy, we are all worthy no matter what. Don’t let anyone rob you of who you are and what you are capable of doing. You do not need to be a genius or have a PHD to be worthy. Your uniqueness is what makes you precious.
Believe in yourself because you are worthy
