As we are quickly approaching the end of the year, we are busy at work trying to complete all the projects as well as starting to plan for the first quarter of next year.
At home we are preparing for the holidays making sure we got everything checked off our list.
Spending our time to make sure we have everything under control takes a lot of energy. We are going home exhausted starting all over again the next day.
We are losing sight of ourselves by putting everyone and everything before us, do we need to do that?
We do not need to do that every single time, we should take the time for us, the time to play. We need to take the time to connect with our inner child. Let our spirit be free for a little while. This will help us to recharge our energy, as the countdown to Christmas is rapidly approaching.
Make some time for yourself this week, take a breather. Even if it’s for an hour, it should be a time away from your family. Share a meal with your friends, go shopping, let your hair down and have fun!
Do something you have not done for a while or something new that you always wanted to do but never had the time to add to your busy schedule.
Clearing up your calendar could be a great way to have a breather at work. Do you need to sit in meetings for hours at a time? Start to reduce your meetings from one hour to 45 minutes. You can free up more time for yourself. Maybe one day leave earlier, instead of going home, do something for yourself.
At home have kids do some activities with friends, send your significant other to run errands. This will give you the time alone to enjoy some peace.
Also, do not forget about your mate. In the middle of this beautiful chaos that is the holiday season, take the time to do something with him/her. It is a wonderful time to count your blessings and be blessed to have someone you truly love by your side.
